Universal Design Short Course Project: Report on Phase 1
The Centre for Excellence in Universal Design (CEUD) at the National Disability Authority has a remit to advance the promotion of Universal Design in education in Ireland. Introduction of Universal Design through education helps to prioritise the awareness and creation of design solutions that reduce the barriers to accessibility and help enable all people to more easily participate as members of society. A Short Course on Universal Design was developed to align with the Framework for Junior Cycle and the guidelines and specifications for Junior Cycle Short Courses developed by the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NCCA) and the Junior Cycle for Teachers (JCT). This report presents the outcomes from Phase 1 of a project commissioned to develop a Short Course on Universal Design for use in 2nd Level Junior Cycle.
