What is Universal Design?
Universal Design involves the design of the digital and built environments, services and systems, so they are accessible to everybody regardless of age, size, ability, or disability.
The Centre for Excellence in Universal Design (CEUD) is dedicated to enabling the design of the built and digital environments including services and systems that can be accessed, understood and used regardless of a person's age, size, ability or disability.
We work to develop guidelines based on international best practice, and contribute to National and European standards as well as highlighting good practice in relation to Universal Design. This provides stakeholders with practical and easy to use information and advice on how to ensure society is as inclusive as possible.
We also engage with a wide range of professional bodies to build awareness of Universal Design in education (UDE) across the education system and through continuous professional development.
