A Seminar on "Universal Design in 3rd level and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Education incorporating Outcomes Measurement" took place on the 23rd of September 2009 at the National Disability Authority 25 Clyde Road Dublin 4. The guest speakers included Marcia J. Scherer, USA Professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation University of Rochester Medical Center.

Marcia is also Author of the books Living in the State of Stuck: How Assistive Technology Impacts the Lives of People with Disabilities and Connecting to Learn: Educational and Assistive Technology for People with Disabilities. Editor of the journal Disability and Rehabilitation: Assistive Technology. Fellow of the American Psychological Association, American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine and the Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America (RESNA).
