Team members from CEUD were delighted to visit St. Laurence O’ Toole’s National School on Friday 13 February and present them with the Universal Design School of the Year award. Since 2019, CEUD have collaborated with the Junior Achievement Ireland (JAI), to introduce Universal Design into their Power of Design (POD) programme. The Universal Design content of the programme is based on Meet the Normals and explores who designs are for and why we need to consider addressing the needs of all people through design.
This year CEUD continued their collaboration with the JAI by sponsoring the Universal Design School of the Year award. The award recognises the school that promoted a UD Approach to their students and whose students have submitted posters that demonstrate good practice in Universal Design.
The winner of this year’s award was St. Laurence O Toole’s National School in Dublin 1. Congratulations to all of the girls in sixth class who submitted a great poster demonstrating their accessible beach design!
