Universal Design Walkability Audit Report, Kilrush, Co. Clare

In 2019, the Centre for Excellence in Universal Design worked in partnership with Age Friendly Ireland to organise a walkability audit in Kilrush, Co. Clare. The aim of the audit was to pilot a draft Universal Design Walkability Audit Tool, being developed by the National Transport Authority. This was conducted with a wide range of people covering a range of ages and abilities.

Clare County Council used the Walkability Audit Report to apply for Active Travel funding. They have started to implement some of the recommendations, as outlined in the video below.
