Higher Education is currently in the midst of an era of unprecedented challenge and change. At its core is the ambition to ensure all our learners grow to their full potential, developing a portfolio of technical skills balanced by opportunities and experiences to allow them grow as creative, independent and socially aware individuals.
Universal Design offers the opportunity to create graduates whose attributes will enable them to participate in a global economy and contribute to the social and cultural development of their own communities.
The Centre for Excellence in Universal Design, in conjunction with the Institute of Technology Blanchardstown, Institute of Technology Tallaght and the Dublin Institute of Technology as part of the Technological University for Dublin Alliance (TU4Dublin) will host a two day conference consisting of a series of workshops, keynote speakers, exhibitions and a 24 Hour Universal Design Hackathon.
The conference will showcase the "best in class" teaching practices of Universal Design from Ireland and internationally and provide educators with practical skills and resources to start teaching Universal Design today!
The conference will feature:

- Prof. Jeremy Myerson (RCA)
- Prof. David Rose (CAST)
- Prof. Hubert Froyen (Hasselt University)
- Panel sessions with industry and education
- 12 workshops - split between papers and practical hand-on classes
- Exhibitions of previous winners of student and graduate Universal Design Awards.
- A "24:Hour Universal Design Hackathon"
Who should attend
The conference will be of interest to educational professionals within universities and institutes of higher education at third and fourth level, including senior management, faculty, professional services, government officials and higher education authorities internationally. The conference papers will also be of interest to members of industry with a research and development function, who collaborate with higher education, or have a strategic interest in the direction of higher education.

NOTE: The 24:Hour Universal Design Hackathon will take place concurrent to the Conference. Participants in the Hackathon will be unable to attend the conference talks and workshops.
